  • Rose

    Before I even met you
    How could I imagine then
The smell and sound of heaven
    That does permeate my skin

The way you know your purpose
As each rain drop pounds the tin
    You burst into each moment
Like you own each how and when

    I’d never predict the force
    That begets the rising sun
To throw back all the curtains
And fire off the starting gun

    You captivate a moment
    In a field of gravity
    Sharp thorns protecting roses
    That will shake humanity

May I never hold you back
    From confronting joy or strife
Because you were born to lead
And I to give you life

  • The Archer in the Jungle

If the world was a jungle like it used to be
You’d be a lion with the heart of a monkey
Surveying the land with precision and speed
Calculating the risk of each grassy reed

Your wit is mystical and deep in your nature
A Master of your habitat—both destroyer and creator
The land of your future is vast and unknown
But out in the wild you’re a king on your throne

You pull back your bow and aim at your prey
A poisonous arrow of delightful melee
The rest of the jungle is forced to surrender
Into this world of magic and adventure

So I know if I had the chance to inhabit
A different land that was peaceful and lavish
I’d trade rubies and pearls and Dom Perignon
To live in the jungle just to be your mom
